John Masters
Lieutenant Colonel John Masters, DSO (1914–1983) was an officer in the British Indian Army. He wrote Bhowani Junction and other books about the British Empire in India. His parents lived near Lyme Regis and, in the 1950s, their lawn was cut by Nigel Atterbury - the brother of Patience Gent (Atterbury) who alerted us to this connection.
